DPS culinary program give students real

After kitchen renovation $ 355,000 finished in December, students took over the preparation of their school lunch and breakfast will soon take over.

The Program, called Drew Nutrition Center, now is one of three Detroit public school students who serve food programs for the community, including giving baked goods.

By March the school aims to have a greenhouse for growing food products for use in schools. Nutrition Center, a collaboration with DPS Office from food service, designed to give Drew students–ages 8-22-the real world, job training, commercial kitchen.

By law, adults with special needs in particular was able to go to school until age 26. Much of what learning students at Drew directed to help them to attain skills, such as cooking, is needed to get a job and become independent.
